Independence Day is one of my favorite holidays, 3-day weekends are heavenly and time with friends & family is pure bliss. So when you add those together, you get a pretty fantastic combination. Sorry if you don't like the play-by-play, but here's a run down of the weekend:
Thursday: Got off of work and headed straight for Logan for a night of fun with my besty Jocelyn. Stayed up way too late talking and having fun.
Friday: Spent the morning with my mom and Jenny washing and pitting cherries from my parents cherry tree so we could dry them & can them. After that, I drove to SLC to drop Jocelyn off at the airport for her family trip to Nauvoo. Then I headed down to Provo to hang out with my friend Scott in American Fork canyon. I've never been up there and it was gorgeous!
Saturday: Worked at Williams Sonoma during the day, then headed to my friend Jeremy's second annual 4th of July party. SO much fun! We had chicken & steak kabobs for dinner, walked to Sugarhouse Park for fireworks, then back to Jeremy's house to watch a movie that he projected on the side of his house. I was responsible for dessert for the party and I made pizzookies! I know most of you have been to Firehouse so you'll know what I'm talking about, but they are the best! And I made them a little extra special with some sparklers.
Sunday: Worked out, went to church, totally screwed up while trying to play the piano for ward choir (I was SOO nervous!), painted a cedar chest I've been refinishing and just chilled at home with my roommates.
All in all, it was a fantastic weekend that I wish hadn't ended so quickly!
