Next Olympian?

Ok....well I probably won't be the next olympian, but I did run a 5K (3.1 miles) race on Saturday. My goal was just to run the race without taking any walking breaks - no matter how slow I had to jog. I finished it in 29 minutes! Not the greatest time ever, but I was pretty happy with it. That averages out to about 9 min, 35 sec miles - not too shabby!

And totally unrelated to the race, Jake and I got to hang out with some of our married friends on Thursday night. Katie & Spencer moved this week for an internship in DC so we all got together for frozen yogurt before they left
(Me, Jake, Liz, TJ, Spencer & Katie)

Other than that, life just keeps plugging along. I finished my spring semester at UofU with a 4.0 and started a new semester last week. I'm taking Nutrition 1020 and an acting class for non-majors. I love being in school! Things are crazy busy with 6 credits + 2 jobs, but I know it will be worth it in the end!

Darn, I was hoping for a finish line photo, or at least an after :) one where you LOOKED like you ran that far. Haha. Fun post, way to be a better athlete than 9/10ths of America :). And HOLY SMOKES 4.0! That's AMAZING!!!

Congrats on the race! I have also been training for a 5K and am up to 3 miles straight. Running is not something I ever thought I would enjoy, but I really like the sense on accomplishment that it gives me. It is a pain to push Ian in his stroller, but it is worth it. I am supposed to be going 3 1/2 miles starting today, so we will see how that goes. I am thinking of jumping right into a 10K! We'll see. Good job on the grades!

I am totally envious that you can run a marathon and not be dead after! That is a dream of mine! And I am also envious of your mad cake decorating skills - that cake is soooo cute! :)
