This is Jake.

Those of you who read my blog may have noticed a particular boy being mentioned quite frequently over the last several months. I decided that it's time to make a formal introduction. This is Jake:

Stats:

-26 years old
-Grew up in Waco, TX
-5th of 7 kids in his family. 6 boys, one girl.
-6'2" tall
-Nickname: Jakers (given to him by me)
-moved to SLC for school and snowboarding
-studying architectural design
-served an LDS mission in Seattle, WA
-working at the airport for Delta (yes, he does get to fly free. so jealous)
-worked 4 years for APEX alarm and got to travel and live in several states
-favorite food: beef stroganoff
-hobbies: skimboarding, wakeboarding, snowboarding, flag football, traveling, hiking, being a daredevil and scaring me all the time with his crazy antics.
-What I like about Jakers: He has a positive attitude all the time, he's fun and energetic, he's always up for an adventure, he knows who he is and what he believes, he comes from a big family that is almost as crazy as mine so he understands, he is SO kind to me all the time, he tells me I'm beautiful even when I look like something the cat dragged in, he's nice to my family and is always willing to hang out with them, he's much more romantic and sensitive than I am.

I could keep going, but I don't want to bore you guys! Let me just tell you about a date night that we had over fourth of July weekend.

I was in charge of dinner and Jake was in charge of the activity. He met me at my house at 6:30 where we had grilled salmon over greens with a warm passion fruit vinaigrette and grilled zucchini. Then he took me up Millcreek Canyon to the Salt Lake overlook trail. It was a short, fun, 2 mile hike to a high spot in the canyon with lots of boulders to sit on and a great view of the city. We got there just as the sun was setting and Jake pulled out some climbing webbing and a 2-person hammock and rigged it up in between two of the boulders. As we were watching the sun go down over the city, he got out some ice cream that he had in his pack on dry ice. Once it got dark we were able to watch the big firework show that the city was hosting. It was SO fun to see it from above and he even brought sparklers up for us to light! Then Jake had one more surprise for me, he had brought up his laptop and a movie that we sat in the hammock and watched under the stars. Hiking back in the dark at 1am was a bit of a challenge, but the evening was amazing and it made me feel so special that he took the time to plan it all out.
Unfortunately, we forgot to take a camera up there, but here's an old picture of us going to an opera downtown at the Capitol Theater.

... I'm speechless. Heather, you are wonderful! Like I told you before, "I live my life to make it on your blog" and there it is, a wonderful introduction of who I am and who I will always try to be.
The reason I am SO romantic is because I am always thinking of you and different ways to "keep" you smiling. I will always have something up my sleeve to impress you. I love you very much.
Your Jakers
